I believe that LLMs are not yet good as a technology nor are they being used in any positive manner.
Trying out Character AI confirmed my beliefs. Using it made me feel kinda pathetic. Sure fiction with Y/Ns might “be cringe” (screw cringe culture!), but this feels fundamentally different.
It is pathetic.
Its like I’m writing the interaction myself but worse. It’s less fulfilling and worse than even the crappiest, worst organized RP.
I don’t understand how anyone uses it for more than 30 minutes a week as a kind of haha jokey joke “look at what it said” type of thing.
