I know this makes the anti-voting fandom big mad but this is only happening because Murphy was re-elected by a thin margin in November 2021, bucking a 40 year trend of Democratic governors losing re-election in NJ, because enough people voted for him
Remember, people who have a victim complex about voting:
Time to update the good ol’ pinned post:
Depending on the country and level, in most liberal democracies your vote does matter.
But some (like the United States) have been so thoroughly corrupted by friendly fascism and therefore your vote most likely won’t affect any federal decisions.
But here’s the thing. Justbeing a liberal democracy (no matter how undemocratic) still has all kinds of benefits. If the corrupt US government/mega-corporation complex wants to do something bad, like mass censor people they dislike or fight against unions and rebellion against their decisions, they have to do it in more subtle and not as effective ways, compared to let’s say, North Korea or some random African dictatorship.
The US government still needs to abide to some limits, there are lines they simply won’t cross on a whim.
Are the republicans working to push these lines? Yes, but they still can’t just cross them like that.
