Could y'all help me out by marking me trans-friendly with Shinigami eyes?

👍

you are anti-trans

don’t have the extension / I’m on mobile

See Results

Unfortunately I have given up on the extension, as the creator and people who run it now loudly proclaim that talking about Transandrophobia or intersex identities (such as afab transfems, mspec lesbians, or mspec identities in general) is a Good Reason To Be Marked Red.

[ID: A screenshot of the above poll, showing that Status-quo-hater has had its url marked Red in shinigami eyes, which is meant to signify with the extension that it is Transphobic. End ID]

Unfortunately, if you are currently marked red in Shinigami Eyes, that is probably not an accident and in fact part of the design which now embraces exclusionism, because you talk about intersectionality and (sarcastically: ) such evil, evil talking points as…. *checks notes*… ‘trans men are discriminated against, and experience oppression because they are trans’

I can try re-installing it to mark you green, but I also do really wanna spread the word that it is *not* inclusive anymore and talking about intersectionality and the need for solidarity can and will get you marked red 🫠

[ID: A new screenshot of the above poll, showing that Status-quo-hater’s url has now been marked Green with Shinigami eyes, signifying that its blog is Trans Positive / Trans Safe. End ID]

EDIT: just got it and marked you green, but this only applies to individual sessions of Shinigami Eyes, and since they apparently have to manually approve marking people Red Generally to begin with….

We just need a new extension at this point that has different colors for different bigotries…

oh, one last reblog:

you can leave a review for Shinigami Eyes here, to express your displeasure in the moderation team marking inclusive trans and intersex blogs red, as well as having their “official guidlines” saying that using transphobic slurs like “theyfab” isn’t enough to be marked red.

I encourage everyone to leave an honest review about the way this extension has the capacity to be misused to silence intersex people and its TOS considers bigotry against nonbinary & transmasc people to be permissible and not enough evidence to mark a person as anti-trans

A developer is now (november 25th 2024) leaving some canned responses to a few of the 1 star reviews, not limited to:

  • “if someone identifies as an AFAB transfem, that forces trans women to identify as AMAB transfems, which makes *you* a TERF!!”
  • “the term "binary trans woman” is a derogatory phrase in my book, so its fine for people to use"theyfab" and “tenderqueer” as slurs while perpetuating violent hatred against trans men, trans mascs, intersex folk, and nonbinary folk"

And take note, this one is verbatim:

  • “Discussion of transandrophobia doesn’t turn you red. It’s using trans language to promote anti-trans values.”

[ID 1-3: A few reviews of the Shinigami eyes with responses from the current developer. The first review reads: “by Dante, an hour ago: I love shinigami eyes, but the abuse of it to mislabel transmasculine people and intersex activists as anti trans is disgusting.”, with the developer response reading: “Developer response posted an hour ago: Transmasculine, intersex and xenogender people are welcome. Just don’t use “AFAB trans woman”, as it forces trans women to use “AMAB” or “male”, aligning your goal with that of TERFs.” The second review reads: “by Firefox user 18701921, 7 hours ago: The guidelines for this extension literally say that a slur targeted at trans people is “not enough” to mark as anti-trans. The developers have as of recently been exploiting this extension’s purpose to mark subsets of the trans community they personally don’t like by flagging them as anti-trans while a lot (Read more)” with the developer response reading: “Developer response posted an hour ago: “Binary trans woman” has long been used in a disparaging way against trans women who transition, but was never a reason to mark someone red. I will not apply different standards to other controversial terms.” The third review reads: “by Firefox user 18700770, a day ago: Used to be a great way to filter and block transphobes but now the moderators are flagging trans men and intersex people red for speaking on their own experiences with transphobia” with the developer response reading: Developer response posted an hour ago: Discussion of transandrophobia doesn’t turn you red. It’s using trans language to promote anti-trans values.”End: ID 1-3]

Wait I thought Shinigami Eyes was completely community voted

It is but updates to the database that you get when you install and update the extension have to be approved by the creators
