I especially don’t appreciate the implication by some posts on here and some anons I get that because I’m not joining in on reblogging those posts that I don’t care about (problem). I do, but I also don’t like guilt tripping people, I don’t like weighing in on things I haven’t researched yet, and I’m generally here on social media to try and forget about my credit card debt for a few minutes. Not pledge my allegiance to the correct social causes every day.
Getting the USA out of South Korea (and Japan!) is a trans rights issue, too, by the way.
Many trans people, of all gender spectrum, in South Korea and Japan both, find themselves doing sex work (as is true with cis ppl and is true in much of the west of the world). What makes this exceptionally a trans rights issue is that esp in case of South Korea, the big area for LGBT+ activities is right next to one of many the U.S. bases in Seoul.
This creates an environment where a lot of soldiers will abuse trans sex workers, and the governing bodies that are supposed to protect the South Korean citizens, already unwilling to intervene on behalf of trans people, doubly turn them away because they aren’t willing to mediate disputes between U.S. soldiers and South Korean citizens.
This has created an environment where trans sex workers I work with in my irl activism in South Korea have all pointed to the U.S. soldiers as the most dangerous and worst customers for their work. What’s more, they say that the soldiers know that they can really get away with all of this, much than with cis sex workers, and target trans sex workers.
I have literally seen people that are supposedly trans-safe get mad at me for pointing out that the U.S.A and its legacy in South Korea is toxic in every avenue (the discussion was about the environment a few days back), and, like, please fucking get a grip. You’re abandoning your international siblings that are victims of your awful empire.

I know the US government acts like a corporation but it’s not.
Not voting isn’t the same as a boycott. Because you can’t bankrupt a government by not voting. All you get by not voting is less control over what the money is doing.
The money comes from taxes, not voting. Abstaining from voting does nothing to reduce the governments ability to get money and spend it on shit.
So yes, sometimes you vote to reduce harm because not voting WILL NOT REDUCE HARM.
It’s not a boycot. Abstaining doesn’t take power from the government. It just reduces the number of people they feel answerable to.
Not only do they not give a shit if you don’t vote it’s precisely what the most sadistic ones are hoping for.

as many of you know I’m going through some tough times dealing with benzodiazepine withdrawals and depression. leaving benzodiazepine and stop taking them It’s not easy, but I’m working on it. i’m highly medicated because of my mental illness (i take anti psychotics, antidepressants and more).
i have to mention too i have been out of meds since saturday
i’ve felt very demoralized by asking for help on here but i’ve talked with some friends and some of you said it wasn’t a problem and it was okay to ask for help

a guy at school today was wearing this damn fine red nail polish and I heard these two girls whispering angrily and looking in his direction so I listened in expecting them to be weird about it and the first thing I hear is “how the HELL did he get it so good did he get it professionally done or something you need to ask him where he found that colour jesus fucking christ are you KIDDING me”
