So I’ve ended up in a money situation where funds I was paid at the beginning of this year I assumed were related to royalties were deposited into my account and now I’ve been sent a threatening letter requesting a return of the funds by the 20th. The website the money went through is one I have used a handful of times to get paid for licensing my work in the past so it made sense it was related. No effort was made at any point to communicate with me about the funds being sent in error, until now nearly 5 months later. Even when there was a near month period between the invoice being marked as paid and the money getting deposited. I don’t know if this is some weird scam I got roped into or just a mistake that I’m now having to deal with but I am terrified and never dealt with something like this before.
I hate to ask for help about this but it will deeply impact my funds for the year, especially since I’m on a hiatus for my health and cannot take on more work that I already am without risking damage to my wrists, but if push comes to shove I will. I have donations open on my kofi and would appreciate any help
