Not to start Disk Horse but my two cents on the whole “misandry is real” thing is that most forms of inequality that men face are still the result of a society that views them as superior. Which is misogyny.

Men are sent to war because they’re seen as bigger and stronger and better.

Men’s emotions aren’t treated seriously because they have the expectation of being in perfect power and perfect control.

Men succeed in suicide more often because they choose more lethal methods, but women attempt suicide more often in less lethal ways- because in their final moments, they still think about being the demure caretakers of other people in their lives.

All of these situations are still the resulted of giving men societal power over women, and forcing them to be in that role of “protector”. They’re still all results of ways to control women.

Whether or not you agree “misandry is real” is always going to come down to what exactly you’re defining as misandry. Are there women who hate all men? Yeah, they’re out there. Are there enough of them to define the driving direction of society, and the prime societal influences that are internalized by people as a whole? Of fucking course not.

Also if a woman says “men are trash” instead of “pardon me good sir, but I do believe society has normalized behaviors amongst men that make me cautious around them, to the point where I must carefully analyze situations in which I trust men moreso than I typically have to do with women” and call her a bad person if she says the first thing then maybe analyze the increased standards of “clean” morality you’re holding women to

Any further commentary I give on this will be time wasting to this and unproductive. Please think critically about how this applies to transphobia, however.
