Y'all should definitely read the entire essay but i just wanna spotlight this bit, especially the last paragraph.
White supremacy is a feedback loop. Not only does it dictate Black exclusion it is thru this exclusion that we establish white superiority. Not only does op perform this in the way he crops the piece to center what he himself considers desirable (and what he sees himself in/mirrors himself after), but we also see it in the way queerness is depicted more broadly, filtered thru layers upon layers of white aesthetics, idealized white bodies, white masculinity/femininity/androgyny, etc, which only serves a white queer identity.
