Autistic Person: “I did what came natural to me. I was hated, outcasted, and punished. So I burned myself out trying to avoid that. I then became invisible. I eventually became tired of being invisible, especially since it required me to burn myself out in order to achieve. But I had no idea what to do about it, and I couldn’t get advice from anyone because no one ever believed that my struggles were even possible. So I took wild guesses at how to get noticed. People then thought I was weird again. I was hated, outcasted, and punished again. After some time, once I realized that my attempts to get noticed were failing and would never succeed, I avoided drawing attention to myself. I then became invisible again. After some time, I again got tired of being invisible, and took different wild guesses at how to get noticed. And yet again, I was hated, outcasted, and punished. So I went back to being invisible, and eventually everyone forgot about me.
