I’m gonna THEORY CRAFT for a second about Animator vs Animation 11. Because there’s something SUPER WEIRD I’ve noticed about the way camera shots are orchestrated in recent animations. Specifically about -
THE LAPTOP SCREEN.
And even more specifically what Alan (and the real world) may look like to the stickmen.
We’ve known for a while now that 3D space was possible outside of the Laptop since AvA 7 (March 11, 2019).
But the camera angle on the Laptop has always been in 2D space until very recently!
I like to think that the one wall in the stickfight house works more like a one-way mirror, where it acts like a window from the outside, but looks completely solid from the inside. It’s shown in AvA 4, when TSC was introduced, that he can also see through this wall from the outside, just like we can, because he watched them fight for a bit…
And he even tried hitting the wall to get their attention!
But the fact that the others didn’t react at all shows that they likely only saw a solid wall, and not a window. I don’t know if there’s been any evidence of the other sticks being able (or unable) to see through the wall from the outside, but my personal theory is that they likely can.
Another interesting thing to note…
Not only does that one actual short show how all the sticks can see Alan through the screen, but Green actually undoubtedly confirms this during his influencer arc! He made a couple posts in the community tab, and one of them was a Q&A post, where he was answering questions in the comments
One person asked him if he could see outside the computer, and the answer was yes, he could!!
Also, another tidbit of interesting stick lore I came across in there…
(Wdym, “it’s not pleasant”, Green? Personally, I think it’s either a lonely void, or (the one I think is more likely) it’s just a blip to them, because they literally just stop existing for a bit, but they may get reset back to the stickfight page, which would make it almost feel like teleporting. Imagine how disorienting it’d be to go through that, man. Like you’re off doing your own thing, minding your business, working on a fun project… then you blink, and suddenly you’re back in bed. Not only that, but your progress might not’ve been saved either. That’d be pretty unpleasant to me ngl)
Anygay, yeah!! Overall, this is definitely very interesting!! I also think it’d be very cool to eventually see the outside world from inside the screen. Imagine one day, Victim comes back to Alan’s computer, and we see him look up a little as he exits the portal…
Then the camera pans around behind him to reveal Alan looking back.
Ooo!! Maybe it’s even a parallel moment, with the angle and composition referencing TCO’s return!! That would be sick!
i know this is months old now. But i want to reblog with more people’s theories because AVA needs more conspiracy theories, OKAY.
It’s such a unique piece of media that does not have any spoken dialogue, but is easy enough to understand even in complex moments. And the background art has so much world building.
A) I seriously think there’s something hella fishy about the stick figures from the city not knowing that they are created by humans. And not knowing that much about their world to begin with.
They have the internet, but it’s unknown if they have “human internet” (i.e. videos with humans in them). And if the stick figures do know Humans exist, why hasn’t the society put two and two together about Humans being their CREATORS.
B) I wanted to quickly mention the wacky way in which Victim BASICALLY CREATED the STICK UNIVERSE and How it works in modern day too.
LIKE-
First, Victim is barreling towards this black grid sphere, where all the stick figures are showing up. And then he pierces it’s outer shell with his rocket.
After he punctures the sphere, this HUGE explosion of green “creationist” energy expands outward.
Not only that, but hundreds of tunnels are created that connect to the Newgrounds bubble (which was likely the tunnel Agent escaped through after Mitsi died), and all types of Websites and people’s computers, more specifically Alan’s Computer.
And this green light completely brings color to the Black globe(or simi-sphere). Giving it an Earth-like appearance.
Why does this happen????? IDK. But i think it’s probably forshadowing?? Feel free to add onto this. This is fun.
