Hi, I’m award-winning queer speculative fiction author Natalie H. Ironside and this is my “blog” where I talk about history, mythology, fantasy, occultism, and, of course, writing.
I’m trans of gender, ace of sexual, and I’m an anarchist author of dark fantasy and dark science fiction, usually with lots of queer characters and cinematic action violence. Most of my stuff explores themes of trauma, recovery, mental illness, and life in the American South (though I also write trad fantasy and space operas from time to time), with a healthy dose of monsters, magic, and women with big guns. I’m a member of the Horror Writers Association and the IWW Freelance Journalists Union and my job is reminding you to pay your union dues.

Hey so I don’t like asking people for stuff or getting into my business but my arthritis is making it harder and harder to do my day job & a few minutes ago I was sobbing because my hands hurt so bad so uh…..this is almost definitely gonna become my only source of income at some point? I also need to scrape some money together & pay down some medical bills before I can even go to the doctor & get some more help for this whole “I’m 31 and my rheumatoid arthritis is keeping me from working or sleeping” problem
