my mom was abusive. she was also abused. she did not deserve that. additionally this is part of a very obscure phenomenon known as “the cycle of abuse” which I’m sure you’ve never heard of before, so of course the logic “if someone sucks then what happened to them wasn’t abuse” might have made sense before now, but hopefully this clears things up xoxo
