Lynn Conway, pioneer computer scientist and transgender activist, has passed away
Lynn Conway has passed away at the age of 86.
Born in 1938, Conway made significant contributions to the field of computer science. She was fired by IBM in 1968 after transitioning, but she went on to make major advances in her field, including revolutionizing the chip design process.
She was a trailblazer for transgender individuals in the tech industry and fought against discrimination and the pathologization of gender variance.
In keeping with her passion for innovation, Lynn was also a pioneer in online transgender resources. Among her most valuable early contributions were lists of successful trans people that inspired many in their own transitions.
