i feel like this shouldnt be the first result i get. its sharing what doctors have published, i guess, but trans people are way more reliable sources of information on HRT due to their actual lived experience being on it.
reading the personal experiences of other transsexuals & talking to my friends has helped me understand almost every aspect of hrt (especially learning abt feminising hrt from transfem friends, since there’s SIGNIFICANTLY less info in scientific journals!!!) way more than anything else by a long shot.
for anyone who’s unaware:
scishow, one of the most popular and reputable science channels on youtube and founded by hank green, posted this video six months ago titled “actually understand hormone replacement therapy.”
the video was presented by a transmasc person and they did not appear to have consulted any transfems in the making of the video; thus, the quality of the information was not balanced for transmascs and transfems. the presenter had experience with testosterone HRT but they did not seem to have consulted anyone who had been on estrogen HRT.
not only that but the information was so inaccurate it could *potentially lead to serious injury or death*

like fuck im not surprised but g-d
they claimed that T-blockers only was a legitimate form of feminizing HRT when in reality that will simply drop you to drastically unsafe hormone levels
