i know. i know it’s been terrible forever and i’ve known that forever but i can’t stop thinking now about how every form of insurance is just like. it’s just paying taxes to a private corporation. like oh let’s all pay a little bit of money to these people so that if we need a lot of money later they can pay for it. and contribute to the public good by ensuring other people have enough money to pay for injuries/fix their car/house/get healthcare

Taxes are bad and evil so instead I pay money to a private corporation whose best interest is to resist giving me a payout at all costs and also a portion of that money goes to a CEO being paid millions of dollars. This is a better system. /sarcasm
