When you kill a healthcare ceo, it’s terrorism. When someone shoots your kid in elementary school, it’s thoughts and prayers for like a week and then they move on. It truly shows the fact that terrorism is whatever the american government wants it to mean.
Until we get government single-payer healthcare, an insurance company isn’t a “unit of government”. A single CEO isn’t a “civilian population”. They’re embarrassed about how they can’t find the killer, so they’re making the biggest, gaudiest, most distracting bus they can and throwing Luigi under it.
From the start this whole thing has shown us that the police are ineffective. They’re trying to get a quick result to show us that we need to keep funding them.
But they’re actually about to confirm what we’ve known since the corrupt Supreme Court appointments and decisions: the justice system is a big bias amplifier. It only serves to further empower the powerful.
