“Men deserve gifts and flowers too!”
I’ve perfectly wrapped gifts for my previous boyfriends, made them homemade cards and baked goods to show how I cared for them. You wanna know what I got in return? I got made fun of, my gifts rejected, and told that “men don’t like stuff like that” so no I don’t think men deserve gifts or anything nice.
I’ve had this shitty experience with one or two particular man, therefore they’re all ungrateful pigs.
Do you have any idea how many men in my life would probably break down crying at how sweet something like this is? Just because the guy you found was shitty about this particular thing doesn’t mean half the world’s population doesn’t deserve that kindness.
And get that “#radfem safe” bullshit out of here. Gender essentialism of any kind is a cancer, another way women and men alike are held down and by the status quo.
In summary, yes, give your boyfriend/husband/male significant other flowers and gifts and attention. Please. Men are not these emotionless creatures society wants them to be, they have desires and feelings and deserve the same kind of compassion as anyone else, and they will appreciate it. If they don’t, well, that’s a problem with that particular person, not every single man on the fuckin’ planet. Jesus Christ.
