- 47% of the electorate was male
- 55% of that 47% voted for Trump
- 145,689,291 voted in the presidential election
- 47% is 68,473,966
- 55% of that number is 37,660,681
- the male population of the United States is approx. 166,000,000
- 37,660,681 is 22% of the male population of the United States
maybe instead of insisting that we need a national androcide and a revolutionary feminist uprising to seize control of the institutions, we should channel our efforts on figuring out why 78% of the male population doesn’t even feel compelled to vote. or we can just say that they’re all evil too, they hate women, see them as farm tools, no one in the country is salvageable and we should just wipe out half of the population. whatever sounds easier, i guess.
You know, i never considered a national androcide till you mentioned it, and am wondering who you could possibly be arguing with as if this is a real position to have. Like is there some sort of actual contingent of actual single gender authoritarian feminists? This sounds so much to me like dudes in the 90s trying to describe what “femenazis” believe or like, a ahitpost. Like, idk, this whole thing is mind boggling to me and has me actually thrown and im legit asking. like, idk also on the basis of like… voting. Is this some sort of actual group of real people? idk legit confused like pls say more
the last few days have resulted in radfem accelerationism finding its way onto my timeline on twitter, tumblr and reddit. “unlimited androcide” keeps popping up as a tongue-in-cheek phrase. i don’t think any of it is actually serious, nor does it really bother me personally whatsoever. but all of this strikes me as performative and counterproductive.
at the end of the day, i agree that men have a huge radicalization problem. however, i don’t think that more hatred and resentment and anger and wishes of death and casting some dumbass guy as a rapist woman hater when he’s purely stupid or has a deeply ingrained misogynistic worldview that is extremely common in America, even among women. it’s not working now and it never really did.
my point is that, unfortunately, no matter who it is, making broad, sweeping generalizations about people and turning everyone belonging specific subgroup into the enemy is going to be counterproductive in getting those people to ally with you. in this instance, yes, there are some who will understand the nuance in this opinion but it will be lost on everyone else and your words will be used to elevate a perception of hate from real right-wing misogynists who make a living off of the discourse.
and maybe some would say “well, i don’t want that person on my side” but there are a lot of young men who haven’t LEARNED to think critically yet who hear people say that and it really only pushes them toward one available option, not mentioning the constant pressure from their peers and the ongoing degradation of their material conditions. they have a responsibility to learn and improve, but it’s not exactly an easy hole to crawl out of.
Thats literally fucking hilarious. If someone with no power over a dude (who he has broad systemic power over in the form of patriarchy) impotently shouting “kill all men” into the void is his fucking joker moment, let me just say for the record, that dude should commit himself to being a different person, or drink bleach for being such a fragile little snowflake. lol.
cool sentence. you should say it to a cashier at a gas station some time and see what kind of reaction you get.
