I think I’ve cleared my head a bit now after the election. I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing and searching for jobs. Once I get one I’m gonna start saving up money to move as I planned before. How the first hundred days of the second Drump presidency goes will determine if that money is for when I get a job somewhere else in the US I’d rather be or if it’s for moving to get a PhD in Canada or Europe to wait this thing out.
Leaving the country has never been my first choice. I’ve seen how often my aunt who lives in Switzerland sees her parents. It’s not often. So if it goes really bad I’ll leave but I’d rather not if I don’t have to. I’m not one to go down with the ship but I’d also like to help stop the ship from sinking in the first place if possible.
