something funny about how yanks shitting themselves about a potential hypothetical lgbt genocide that immediately jumps to concentration camps seem to think seeing trump and harris as pretty much the same is a position hold by only privileged people who “wouldn’t be affected anyway”, when a lot of people who think that have arrived to the conclusion by the fact that no matter the president, their people were and will be subjected to genocide, camps, massacre and constant violence
this always strikes me as a failure of idealism, and the liberal conception of fascism as a magic spell. If fascism is not evil hypnotism, but only relies upon material circumstances and existing societal prejudice, they would have to confront that any society capable of throwing lgtbq people in camps is capable of doing so regardless of who wins the election - they would need to crusade against the state legislators, county sheriffs, public bureaucrats, and suburbanite collaborators that would enable that genocide. And that’s so much scarier than pretending a single elected avatar will save them, so they cling to that illusion ever-tighter and snap at us for trying to break it.
