Multiple sources, including Resistance News Network and journalist Anas Al-Sharif, report the murder of young journalist Hassan Hamad by the occupation. Hassan ascended to martyrdom when the IOF bombed his home in Jabaliya, north Gaza. He recently reported (flash warning) for Al-Jazeera on the IOF’s sudden resurgence in bombing attacks on north Gaza.
We have frequently shared Hassan’s posts on this blog, and we are devastated to hear of his loss. He was a courageous and dedicated journalist who constantly risked his life to document the IOF’s genocide of the people of Gaza. He did not have a massive platform and he had almost no resources at his disposal. Yet he chose to put himself in greater danger, seeking out the site of occupation atrocities in order to show the world the truth.
Hassan was last active on his Instagram account just 2 hours ago. He was most active on Instagram and Telegram (graphic content warning). We ask our followers to share his latest updates, on Instagram if you have it, or by copying and posting the links from his posts across your social media accounts.
Please amplify the voices of the people of north Gaza, so that more people will know the truth, and so the courage and sacrifices of people like Hassan will not be in vain.
