I don’t understand how Bethesda manages to create such insane and interesting lore for Elder Scrolls series, but then every game they put out is boring and shit. My only explanation is that there’s a blind hermit living in the ventilation system of the main Bethesda office who crawls out at night and writes down his dreams into random in-game books, and then the actual developers just never bother to delete it. I don’t believe for a second that the same people who wrote the dogshit Skyrim’s story also invented insane stuff like Lyg.
Like, there are fucking space-time ships and towers that anchor the world in reality and then the games are about some big dragon trying to destroy the world or cultists summoning an evil god. And there’s actually cool lore even behind those plots, but it’s all hidden behind a shit writing of the main story.
