people who know little to nothing about ace attorney you should just be aware that despite miles edgeworth’s weird stuck up aura his special interest is canonically a children’s samurai show
????
other occasions where he is a fangirl off the top of my head:
- in the third case of the first game the actor who plays the main character is accused of murder and after the trial edgeworth tells him he admires his work
- has a statue of said main character in his office (yes at work) and claims it was a gift he is only keeping for the sake of being polite
- however if you interact with it in the first case of ace attorney investigations he infodumps about how despite its main demographic being children it also appeals to adults because–
- hid a steel samurai book inside his law book during a flight
- his ringtone is the show’s theme song
- in ace attorney 6 he discovers that another country has a show which is essentially a rip off of the steel samurai and he goes on a passionate rant about how awful it is and how his samurai show is obviously better
- various pieces of official art where he is wearing merchandise or getting an autograph from the aforementioned actor or… staring longingly at his favourite character??
like it’s so funny because on the surface he’s this righteous guy who values his career over all else and only really cares about bringing criminals to justice. he’s emotionally repressed and uses big complicated words and doesn’t go anywhere not wearing a jabot as if he lives in the baroque period. and all of that is true to some extent but then you play the games and it’s like oh! he’s gay and has twelve mental illnesses and watches children’s shows. got it
