do any other aroallo people feel alienated from the concept of platonic love. or like it doesn’t really fit you?
people so often use “platonic” as something inherently oppositional to sexual desire. even though people have the concept of “friends with benefits” it’s always presented as a casual (& implicitly short-lived) relationship. there’s this idea that if platonic love is profound, it’s non-sexual, and if sexual desire is profound, it’s inherently romantic.
