how come i see so many characters that are commonly headcanoned as autistic and or generally neurodivergent in fanon, that are also treated as if they are a child, childlike, childish or young in fanon. this is a concerning pattern. you guys know infantilisation isnt the only way to treat neurodivergent characters right

see i’ve come to call this a “five pebbles situation” because that’s where i’ve seen it the most. just a few minutes ago a friend talked about a character in another character in another fandom who was very commonly hc’d as neurodivergent and also treated like a child and i just asked “five pebbles situation?” and wouldn’t you like to know what it was. it was a five fucking pebbles situation. that man is a grown ass man who does grown ass man things and is treated like a child in fanon
