Wanted to design a fakemon based off of Truffle Pigs and my brain went brrrrrrrr
Truffles and trees have a symbiotic relationship (tree roots provide nutrients to truffles while truffles help trees access minerals they otherwise couldnt pull from the dirt) and I thought about like The Parallels to parasitic nature of paras/parasect.
Snufflin - Snufflin has no eyes and relies on its nose to follow the earthy scent of its parents. Its skin is hard and brittle, but the mushroom on its back absorbs some of the impact of falling or being stepped on.
Trufflin - The coat on Trufflin’s back may resemble fur, but it is actually an edible fungus. While considered a delicacy, its coat must be harvested with care as the mushroom growing from Trufflin’s head releases toxic spores when it is startled.
Kerfufflin - The older a Kerfufflin is, the softer its truffle coat becomes. Kerfufflins can be seen rubbing against trees and throwing its weight around to disperse the spores and scent from its coat to mark its territory. However this often releases the airborn toxins from the other mushrooms growing upon its back and caution is advised.
