In Serbian, Croatian and Montenegrin you have to say “non-binary person” every single time to avoid assigning them masculine, feminine or “neither” gender and you might think, why not just use the “neither”? Because it’s basically always used to describe babies or children when used on living beings.
It’s too bad we don’t have a singular they that doesn’t have pre-existing cultural significance.
