hey gang your streamer is valid but it just came out that mine accidentally caused a 6 year hunt of a lost video game that never even existed so who really wins here
this’ll be a bit of a long one, but-
years ago, a reddit post surfaced about a person looking for a specific video game. op, sparta213, had said this was a harvest moon esque game, but in the game you had killed your wife and part of it was hiding her body any time the farm was searched. here’s the full post:
people hunted this for ages. someone also claimed they had it on an old pc but this never really led to anything. people gave a bunch of suggestions but none were the actual game op was looking for. (personally idk how surprised i am that there’s multiple contenders)
now i don’t remember how exactly this turned out (it’s been three years after all), someone found a clip of joel vargakelethor joking about a specific game’s title, body harvest (a nintendo 64 game), and described a plot incredibly similar to op’s original post. this stream had occurred about a year before the reddit post.
in a different thread, op admitted to having sleep issues, not remembering dreams while on medication for said issues, and someone joked that they “wouldn’t be surprised if this were a dream” since op did admit to watching vinesauce content.
op eventually discovered that, yes, it WAS a dream that caused this entire hunt. so tl;dr, joel joking about a “body harvest moon” game caused a years long hunt for a game a redditor imaged during an insomnia period
