To mark the 10th anniversary of Shovel Knight, the #1 indie game that first came out on Nintendo 3DS and Steam before it was ported over to other platforms (i.e. OS X, Linux, PS, Switch), I went ahead and pieced together an 80’s inspired portrait with him holding the shovel way high and running like a proud fi– uh, I mean, hero he is. Excuse me.
For this background alone, I used spraypaint to give it a much more inspired tone on a certain album that always helped me cool down with a much needed breather after a lot of work was done. If you haven’t, I suggest doing so right away!
My first time with Shovel Knight dates back five years ago when I got the game for my birthday present, exactly a few months before COVID-19 made me stay home and worked hard on animation. I was able to get through the Shovel of Hope campaign while going for a perfect run without having to lose a single life or any health whatsoever. And once it was done, I thanked the boys the Order of No Quarter for finally coming to their senses and it was a fascinating experience. No problems were needed.
Now to relax and wait for that DX edition so I can be patient for another round. But entirely different! Or was it physical?
