I’m conflicted cause he definitely needed to die, for everyone’s safety. And I absolutely do not trust the justice system to do it. But I’m not sure I believe in bringing cruelty into it. Like even the worst of us don’t deserve to be burned to death.

I disagree solely for the fact that I’ve heard that suffocating in a room filled with carbon dioxide is more painful and lasts longer and so would be a better punishment

The Justice system isn’t supposed to give out punishments, but instead measures to prevent further crimes.
Sure, those measures are pretty crappy in most places, but they shouldn’t be replaced with revenge.
Burning criminals to death (no matter what kind) is not going to fix the criminal problem, as satisfying as it may be for the victim.
Also let’s not forget the human right to live, which we would be denying to whoever was burned to death.
Do not let righteous anger allow you to abandon principles this easily.
