it’s pretty funny to see TERFS fall back upon god and his divinely ordained telos to try and keep their soundbite shibboleths coherent

This is a silly argument. We know what biology intends to do. Down’s syndrome exists, and we know that it is a disability because we are supposed, or intended, to have 46 Chromosomes. If you try and argue otherwise you are just being disingenuous

this is a great demonstration of what ‘cultural christianity’ actually looks like – biology cannot be a nonagentic amoral complex set of intersecting processes – it must have 'intentions’, it must 'suppose’, it must be purposeful and deliberate, because 'biology / evolution / nature’ are thoughtlessly copy pasted into otherwise identical arguments about god’s perfect design

Besides everything txtt said, it’s an absolutely bonkers claim to say that Down’s syndrome is classified as a disability “because of” missing chromosomes. I feel pretty confident assuming that if a syndrome with identical symptoms existed that was not caused by missing chromosomes that it would still be classified as a disability, to say nothing of the fact our ideas about what is classified as “disability” predate humans having any knowledge of what a chromosome even is!

Just a completely whacky doodle argument.
