They both fall to the ground
Oliver tries to sit up
He coughs until his throat finally lets air in again, then coughs some more
“This is bad. They need some help”
He hears frantic steps coming towards the room
“Ah, my guardian angel is here”
“OLIVER?!”
Ángel gets in the room
“Hey…”
He says while coughing
Ángel kicks Eugene to the side and quickly helps Oliver sit up
“Don’t ‘hey’ me! Are you okay!? Are you dying?!”
“Hah… of course not
I promised, remember?”
“This is not the time for being cute! What is going on?”
“Ángel, the kids, they got stabbed.
I need you to take care of them. They need to put pressure on the wounds until we find some type of medical equipment that’s actually usable”
He coughs, and his throat is fully functional now. All he needs is his oxyygen deprived muscles to catch up.
“There must be some first aid in the bathrooms, right?”
“Alright, I’ll take care of this.
You stay seated, okay?”
“Yes, yes”
He won’t stay seated. He has something to do.
“Ok kid, you heard him, this is going to hurt, but I need you to put pressure in your wound, okay?
It will be fine. You haven’t even lost that much blood! Just keep on pressing”
“Ow.
Is this what a C-section feels like?”
“… I hope that’s the blood loss talking”
“And Nadia, you-”
“I know what I’m doing. Focus on Simon”
“… You better. Or else I’ll tell everyone that you said I was your favorite adult”
“Die”
While Ángel does his best on first aid, Oliver shakily stands up
He looks around for something
“While we were fighting, I heard something
One was Nadia moving around, probably taking off the knife in her back to use it against Coli
Which, wow, hardcore
Note to self, never anger a teenage girl
The other was… something dropping
It sounded close, like it dropped off him
What could he possibly be carrying? It sounded heavy, too”
After a wobbly step, he sees it
“A book?
Wait, is that the lost photobook?
Why was he carrying it?”
He goes to grab it
“Oh”
He remembers
“I get it now”
“I understand what’s going on”
“Well, most of it anyways, There’s some things I need to make sure of, but I have a pretty solid hypothesis”
Nadia moves around
she goes to cuddle with her brother
Accidentally, she makes eye contact with her father
Identical eyes, looking at each other
“You are just like me”
“Shut the fuck up”
“Shut the fuck up”
“My lovely daughter…”
“I am going to stab you again”
He laughs
Ángel wants to change that
He takes out a pocket knife and gets close to Eugene
“So, will you say what’s going on, or should I take your other eye?”
“You are so stupid”
“Eye it is”
“You really don’t get it, do you?”
He’s losing a lot of blood
He smiles
“It doesn’t matter who dies”
He goes unconscious
“What…?”
“Oh”
“That’s it.
That’s what I needed to know”
Oliver gets closer to the room’s window, it leads away from the house
“He’s going to die soon.
If my theory is correct, then I need to do this quickly”
He opens the window
And throws the photobook outside
“Wha- Oliver! I told you to stay seated! Was that Vivi’s …?!”
“Ángel there’s no time, listen to me”
“He’s dying. We are going back to the start any moment now”
“You… remember?”
“Listen. Once we go back, I need you to find that photobook. It should be where I threw it, probably buried under some of snow”
“But you NEED to find it, and when you do, bring it to me
Or I’ll go to you, maybe”
“I know what’s going on. Once you give it to me I’ll explain everything, okay? I’m counting on you”
“I’ll do it”
“Thank you”
“Fuck, I’m sending Ángel in middle of a storm on a wild treasure hunt, is there any way to help him?
Think, think! Usually, I get a lingering feeling of what I was doing before going back to the start
That tends to be dying
I need to do something that will remind me to find Ángel
Something impactful! Something with a lot of emotions like…
Like…
Yeah, that would work”
“Ángel, I know this might be sudden, but”
“Oh, I’m nervous”
He gets on the tip of his toes and pulls Ángel closer
“I- I need this. Please?”
“Absolutely”
“Hah, I can’t believe I fell in love with this man 4 times in a row.”
“And I’d do it again”
A clock chimes
Something feels
Wrong
