We have a Pride Street? In the deep-red Bible Belt??? And there’s Pride flags outside a bunch of these businesses???
This would never have happened when I was a kid. Shops would have had their windows broken and the sign would have been pulled down or shotgunned.
“Empty” gestures are still gestures that would never have been made 30-40 years ago. I was alive then. I’m not so cynical as to lose sight of that.
