Tumblr staff is antiblack and transmisogynistic but Cohost isn’t a better option. Cohost’s team includes former Discord moderator Kara, known for condoning “cub porn” (pedophillic furry art) on the platform. Since Kara formerly went by the handle “allthefoxes”, a reference to a lolicon group, she’d have a vested interest in its allowance. This loophole in moderation carries over to Cohost. Written plainly in their community guidelines.
Note the emphasis on “human” minors and “realism”.
The deeper I dig about this circle of people the sicker I feel. Cohost’s banning of toonimal was likely a PR move given the company they keep. It’s a bare minimum move (one Tumblr still hasn’t taken for some reason) that they don’t deserve all this credit for.

I would also like to point out that the original screenshot that tries to paint cohost as allowing non-realistic CP is deliberately taken out of context and then blamed on a trans woman, in fact if you click the link to their guidelines and scroll down to the section labelled “fictional 18+ content featuring minors” it says right there that non-photorealistic visual art is also banned. The reason they specify photorealistic in the first screenshot is because the first screenshot is from a section talking about the law, because photorealistic drawn CP is illegal but non-photorealistic isnt.
This entire post is stuff taken out of context to try and paint a trans woman as a pedophile based on rumors for simply existing online.
Thanks to everyone who did their due diligence on this, something I failed to do. It was point blank transmisogynistic for me to take this hearsay at face value. Kaara is right, “all the things” was in fact an old meme in 2012, and is a more plausible explanation for her old handle. With that context, extrapolating that Cohost’s community guidelines are her fault, or her handle is a reference to a lolicon group, is nonsense. Nothing but a transmisogynistic willingness to believe the worst about transfems. To Kaara and every other transfem that had to see this post on their dash, I’m sorry. In light of the persecution transfems are experiencing on and offline, especially now, transmisogyny exempt people like me need to do better. I saw bad things said about her and immediately spread them. As a self-proclaimed ally I should’ve stopped myself right then and there and checked that instinct. But I didn’t. And for that I am truly and deeply apologetic. I’ll edit the original post to exclude the part about Kaara and link to this thread of reblogs debunking it. Transfems feel free to drop your mutual aid posts, gofundmes or cashapps in my messages. I don’t have much but opening my purse and boosting is the least I can do in light of this.
Hey OP, I just want to acknowledge and thank you for the retraction. It’s genuinely nice to see someone handle a situation like this with respect and maturity.
