in fics where luke gets plopped into the prequels i want every jedi within ten metres of him to think hes the weirdest jedi theyve ever seen. he has negative lightsaber form. he doesnt know what a kata is. he handstands when he meditates. his solution to sith is to try and have a chat. hes a political radical who keeps suggesting revolution. you ask him what the jedi code is and he says “kindness and compassion and helping those in need :) ”. you ask how he used the force like that and he says some shit about how you are a luminous being limited only by your mind. the councils authority is just a suggestion. he is somehow the new favourite of both qui gon and yoda
Part of the reason Luke is instantly Yoda’s darling is that Yoda has been dreaming about him for years. Luke’s eyes light up at the sight of him and Yoda suddenly knows Luke will be the most important person in the universe to him one day. But this Yoda isn’t meeting an impatient little shit who looks like his father who destroyed the Jedi order, he’s meeting Luke as a chilled-out towering presence in the Force, who plows through every limitation a Jedi should have like it’s not even there.
How they act towards each other is the freakiest thing anyone has ever seen. Luke treats Yoda like a beloved lunatic uncle. He will casually swipe food off Yoda’s plate like a five year old poking around for gum in mom’s purse. When he starts bringing Yoda frogs to swap for sweets is the first time anyone in the Jedi Order realizes Yoda fucking loves eating frogs. Luke keeps offering to give Yoda a ride on his back. The first time Yoda says yes Obi-wan trips and falls on his face.
