It’s more accurate to say that republicans gut punch you after saying no
These posts about democrats and republicans being equal really need to stop. They’re not fucking equal. At all. They’re both shit, but one is goddamn fascist while the other is merely apathetic and self centered. One of them wants me dead, while the other just wishes I’d make myself small.
Republicans are actively trying to take away rights with zero chance of progress while democrats are at least generally keeping them in place and very rarely increasing them.
ITS NOT FUCKING EQUAL.
And if you need proof that it’s not equal ask literally any minority in a republican run state and then a democrat run state. They’ll tell you exactly how fucking unequal it is. And if I seem angry it’s because I am, whenever someone votes for a republican it is a vote to increase my suffering and the level of danger I face.
Honestly whenever some lefty pulls the whole “both parties are equal” bullshit on me I’ll just tell them that saying that’s fucking centrist shit because it fucking is! It doesn’t matter if someone is saying both parties are the same because they’re both corrupt and incompetent or saying it because they’re both dedicated to their donors at the end of the day (a true statement) it’s still centrist bullshit either way.
Sometimes you just gotta use the right words with those morons and most of them hate centrists/liberals more than they do the actual fascists because they lack any level of cognitive function above what would be found in a houseplant.
Also even with regards to working class issues the dems are still marginally better than the republicans and anyone who can’t see that is an absolute moron. Like they at least made an attempt at debt forgiveness even if it was blocked. Should they have fought harder for it? Abso-fucking-lutely but they at least made SOME attempt at it whereas the republicans would probably quadruple student debt and bathe in your tears if they could because they’re actual demons.
Oh also while I’m on this shit vote fucking blue. Yeah Biden is fucking shit but as far as I’m concerned not voting (or even worse voting red) is you saying you’re at the very least okay with me getting my rights to transition stripped from me because that’s what the republicans would try to do if they were in power. If not voting was effective do you really think republicans would be trying their hardest to make it harder for minorities and young people to vote? Think about that for a bit.
