man, this is like the Some Girls Play Games?? articles that have been published every year since at least 1990 but somehow remain surprising and newsworthy
I mean I don’t think it’s quite that? I think it’s more the whole ‘what used to be our weird geek shit has been taken over by the normies’ complaint (which isn’t always a wholly invalid/inaccurate complaint!) but from a perspective that insists/assumes/implies that all oldschool geeks were male and all women are normie
