Anyone have any ocean fun facts? I could go for some ocean themed posts today.
The oar fish
Typically live in deep waters. Nicknamed the “disaster fish” and “earthquake fish” due to their association with disasters. In Japanese they are called 竜宮の使い “Ryūgū-No-Tsukai” as in “messenger of the sea dragon gods palace” from legend
these things are basically sea serpents (and if i had to guess, some stray sightings of oarfish are what inspired that). their size starts at twice a normal human, and they only grow from there, with many being north of 30ft
