Oklahoma bill would require ‘furries’ be picked up from school by parents, animal control
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS STATE
Humphrey’s bill, House Bill 3084, would ban “students who purport to be an imaginary animal or animal species, or who engage in anthropomorphic behavior commonly referred to as furries at school” from participating in class and school activities.
The bill would require parents or guardians to pick the student up from school.
But, if parents are unable to pick the student up, the bill says “animal control services shall be contacted to remove the student.”
it’s truly incredible that we’ve solved all the world’s problems so that now “grade schoolers meowing” is the most pressing issue we face as a society today.

genuienly what does this mean. is the behavior referred to as furries banned?? is it banning those who engage in anthropomorphic behavior (that being Human Behavior) who are commonly called (the kids being called) furries??? is a kid going to call the cops on another kid for the crime of Using a Pencil (Known Human Behavior) While Being Called a Furry?????
this is why I hate people like Joe Rogan who spread misinformation and get conservatives to go batshit insane over something. I bet this started off as a conversation about how we need to ban litter boxes in the classroom because it’s such a pressing issue that every kid wants one (nobody, i mean nobody has actually done this lol). They will go over literally anything that Fox or whatever news organization is putting on the spotlight to hate. Kids make animal noises, it’s part of our development. Sometimes they behave like them, doesn’t mean that they’re doing some obscene sex act. I wonder how this will effect the intellectually disabled (modcog, as in moderate cognitive development) students will be harmed the most by this. They cannot grasp why what they’re doing is considered “wrong” and this will just lead to more discrimination against special ed. I bet you that’s one of the targets of this sort of thing, how can we cut funding to special ed departments without violating federal laws. Oh I know, we can go after the behaviors we deem 'weird’
yeah 100%. like kids have no clue what furries are all this bill really does is just give teachers a free pass to call the cops on any little kids and neurodivergent kids they want gone. like i know ive engaged in “furry behavior” per this law, you probably have too, and everyone reading this probably has done it at least once in school too. its nothing more than another excuse to arrest whoever the teacher hates. actually nope. whoever anyone (that knows about this law) hates

litter is also extremely useful in cleaning things like oil spills, for classes like automotive. Just because there’s kitty litter does not mean kids are openly pissing and shitting in a box. anyone who thinks this is deranged
