“adult who logs on and works themself into a furor over teenagers not having perfectly articulated opinions and thoughts on the world” is quickly becoming my least favorite genre of Poster Du Jour
“this teenager is overly skittish and prudish about alcohol and drugs” i was like that as a teenager because i was a sheltered child and not every person in the world enjoys substance use or has the proclivity for it and that’s fine
“this teenager has conservative ideas about sex” theyre literally at a point in their life where they’re only beginning to grapple with sexuality, that’s their business and barring some far flung outliers it’s probably extremely weird that you care about what a kid you dont know thinks about sex
“this kid’s opinion about this complex issue is ill-informed and not as articulate as it could be” that is normal because they are a child
“this teen online doesnt understand queer history” maybe you should gently guide them as a peer in your vulnerable community instead of trying to dunk on them for your followers
“this kid on the internet is a loser because [x]” if youre an adult and say stuff like this i have to assume youre projecting bc you were bullied in tenth grade
