It’s worth noting that many, MANY players spoke out against the ban, including the aforementioned Crosby and McDavid. Dermott took it one step further and just said “fuck it, Imma use the tape” which is typically only used on designated Pride nights. He just did it on (I think) a regular-ass, non-Pride game.
