I learned 3 years into “it doesnt feel like christmas” christmasses that you have to MAKE your own holidays as an adult.
When you were a kid, adults would make your holidays for you so you just glided through all the celebration just enjoying it. But as an adult:
If you don’t decorate your dorm/apartment there won’t be any decorations.
If you don’t put on Christmas music there won’t be music.
If you don’t bake cookies there won’t be cookies.
If you don’t go see the holiday windows at Macy’s, if you don’t pay for a day of ice skating, if you don’t go see the big tree downtown, if you don’t go sing Christmas carols, if you don’t watch holiday specials, if you don’t get gifts for your friends and spend hours wrapping them, if you don’t go to Christmas parties if you don’t willfully create and participate in Christmas festivities then it WON’T “”””””””feel””””””””” like Christmas. And that’s that on that!
