Hi! Some of the people who submitted some photos talk about how they have a negative-ish gut-reaction to insects, I have it too sometimes, but I'm also working on it. (I even pinned some pretty bugs, a local species that I found dead beside the road or in our garden.)

Sometimes your posts make me very interested in researching the different types of insects, but when I look at pictures of spiders for example I have to consciously "step over" that same feeling when I want to touch my phone screen:D

I'm not freaking out about it, I was just wondering if you've ever had problems touching insects, or if you've ever experienced this "second-hand" reaction to touching pictures of them? (It feels a bit silly tbh but also quite interesting how my brain can't really tell the difference:D)

Hello! And yes, I definitely used to have that reaction to photos of spiders and centipedes. My mother is terrified of both of those, so she passed her fear along to me as a kid and I had to do a lot of work to get over it. But now I don’t have any sort of negative reaction to seeing either in photos or in person, unless they happen to startle me, but that’s more a reaction to something unexpected than it is a fear reaction to a bug specifically.
