Conservative right wingers tend to be bad at writing, but occasionally they write something kinda mediocre that just so happens to catch the spark of creative fan’s imaginations through no talent of the author’s own.
A thriving fan community springs up around that mediocre piece of art that basically does most of the author’s writing for them, and they ride the coattails of that fandom and even make a successful movie or two before eventually getting the chance to make real change.
And then they use all that good will and money for evil.
It’s weird to see that happen twice.
