I’ve always liked the idea of magic systems where it takes a toll on the body
Not in a way like it physically transforms you but in a way where it scars the body
Lightning magic users who experience symptoms of nerve damage like paralysis and have lightning strike scars or fire users with a color gradient on their arms because they’ve been burnt so much
I should try to come up with some of these at some point
