Nothing boomer about this. It’s another thing that forces you to rely on specialized accessories. Plus, the wireless headphones are easier to lose or damage. And they’re often more than double the price of a pair of wired earbuds.
New technology should always be an option, not a requirement. Bluetooth is great - as an option. Digital currency is great - as an option. Electric cars are great - as an option.
Plus, if the only way you can get people to adopt new tech is to make it the only thing available, or require it by law, one has to wonder how great said tech really is.
Its like the way everything requires a constant internet connection and a smartphone app. I struggle to find a game I like on gog because I hate Steam’s policy of “you own nothing, peasant!”.

The other day, my access to it was blocked and it took a struggle with their tech support before I was allowed access again.
And even the vacuum cleaner my relative bought can be disabled remotely. The scandal recently was that they were taking footage of children changing etc and auctioning it off on the dark web.
