Happy Ace awareness week (or whenever you’re seeing this who knows could be a bad Monday)! Here is a list of “things not to say to asexuals” from an asexual:

• How could you know if you haven’t tried it?
• Maybe your just a lesbian/gay/ect.
• You just haven’t met the right person
• If you like sex how can you be ace?
• But you have a boyfriend/girlfriend/significant other
• You don’t have to decide now
• But you’re not a virgin!
• But you’re so hot
• Then why do dress like that
• All teenagers/young adults/everyone feel(s) that way
• But you had crushes when you were younger
• But you said that (name of person) was attractive
• You just have internalized….
• That’s not a real thing
• You’re just worried noone will sleep with you/be attracted to you/want to date you
• You just want to be different/feel marginalized/be trendy
• Nobody likes sex/find random people attractive (who’s gonna tell them?)
• Asexual is not a real thing
• I don’t believe in asexuals (bish what are Santa Claus?)
• It’s just your autism, depression, social anxiety, bpd, physical disability, ect.

• You can’t be ace and have a dirty mind/make dirty jokes/talk about sex
• You’re only asexual because of your trauma

Peoples appearance, clothing, age, libido, past experiences or relationships DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT invalidate their sexuality, so you shouldn’t!
