I was gonna amend this to make clear that I don’t think Taylor Swift could be individually responsible for the decisions that lead to the death of Ana Clara Benevides (nor the fan killed in relation to ANOTHER of her concerts that week) until I read about the cover up. Taylor Swifts team is releasing false information to English-speaking outlets implying that the fan died before the show started, when in fact she died during the performance- where they were also using FUCKING PYROTECHNICS as audience members were passing out from heat exhaustion!!!
Doesn’t matter her personal level of involvement- she is the empress, she is in charge of her whole team, and the hiring/firing/management of folks who would make systemic decisions to undervalue the lives of her dumbass fans are on her shoulders. I also do not think her team would make decisions like this in the US- I think the lives of these poc fans mean less to Taylor because the US media will not do independent reporting on the deaths of Brazilians and her teams culpability in those deaths, and will instead run whatever narrative Swifts team puts forward.
