Rules-lawering prophecy is an ancient tradition, both by those recieving and giving the prophecy. The greek oricales were famous for that. They once told a king when he asked if he would win a war they responded that a great kingdom would fall if he went to war. They always spoke in riddles so this was not an out of the ordinary answer, and so he took it as though he would win the war. He lost the war and his kingdom. When he then sent an angry letter to the oracle, they responded that a great kingdom did fall, his own
