I do think it’s kinda weird that the common response to “polyamorous people are oppressed” is laughter and ridicule. As if the societal status quo doesn’t enforce monogamy, as if straying from monogamy isn’t punished or treated badly, as if hatred of polyamory isn’t always acted out with homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia and racism. I think it’s funny that someone will be like “the nuclear family is bad” can see that society forces the concepts of straight/cis good but gay/trans bad, but can’t for a second believe monogamy is part of all that. It’s just very silly.

even biologically, we’d learn a lot more about the humans if we ignored gender as a basis - fat distribution, muscle mass, mental and physical activity, hormones, calorie/nutrient levels, personal biomes (there’s more than just the gut biome) - so many things matter way more than gender and few are that clear cut

my dad was looking for sprinkler heads that got buried during the winter with a metal detector that i bought in 5th grade and i didnt have the heart to tell him that it probably didnt work so i was watching him though my window and i saw him pick up what looked like a clump of dirt and i was like “oh it does work” and then i look closer and its a rabbit. my dad found a rabbit with a metal detector that doesnt work.
