Some women are conditioned to be fragile and weak, and to believe that it’s a sin to outperform a man. Her feminism would involve allowing women to be strong.
Some women are expected to be strong at times when they can’t. Her feminism would involve reassuring her that it’s okay to not be strong.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they’re too stupid to ever amount to anything. Their disability activism would involve reassuring them that they’re capable.
Some neurodivergent people are raised to believe that they’re smart and gifted, and are expected to live up to impossible standards. Their disability activism would involve allowing them to fail, make mistakes, be stupid, etc.
Some children are constantly reminded “you’re the child, I’m the adult” in order to deny their autonomy. Their youth rights activism would involve treating them like an adult at times when they feel ready for it.
Some children are treated like adults in order to justify increased expectations or to downplay abuse against them. Their youth rights activism would involve allowing them to be a child.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to oppression. Each individual person’s experience is different. Whatever trauma is caused by their oppression, the activism should focus on undoing it.

these are a mandatory part of every windows install for me. been using them for years and it’s such a lifesaver
Because this has mostly been talked about with Windows 11, heads-up that this installed itself on every Windows 10 computer in our house with this week’s update.
Reblogging to remind my Linux user followers how good they have it.
The idea that trans women are just like, cosplaying women or something for some ulterior motive is so utterly absurd to me, especially when I consider what I and so many other trans women value most in our transitions, which really is the mundane. I don’t just “pretend” to be a woman in public, I am a woman always, and it’s at home when I am just doing the same things I have always done that I feel most fulfilled in my transition, like cooking dinner or lounging in my pyjamas or doing homework. I did not transition for some supposed social advantage but because my coffee tastes sweeter through the lips of the woman I am than the man I tried to be.
If I had a time machine I’d get in right before QAnon and introduce the American right wing to the concept of an ARG. I’m pretty sure that’s what those guys wanted. A good ARG and maybe a local larp group could’ve saved so many of them. Instead they got caught up in something where they thought that the only way to get emotional fulfilment and catharsis indulging their little conspiracy brains was to believe it was actually real.
If you look at early QAnon stuff it is so so clearly a bunch of people desperate for an ARG but they weren’t provided an alternate reality and had to dump all their bullshit into this one.
You should draw them absolutely seething at each other, but secretly wanting to make out, or do the exact opposite and have them be super flirtatious (in their own way) and really wanting to give the other.
mormons undoubtedly in the top 5 worst things the united states has ever invented which is really saying something
sorry that sometimes when I stay up too late I start posting abt how much I hate mormonism but the spirit just moves me to do it
like the mormon church is just such a perfect microcosm of everything wrong with christianity as it’s practiced among the american right wing. everything abt it is so disgusting. one of the most utterly repulsive spectacles of racism, misogyny, and bigotry to ever leave a stain on the earth
Bringing this back because there’s been a bit of a push from Mormon influencers to normalize Mormonism, and as an exmormon I’m here to say fuck that
Do not allow the LDS Church to rebrand itself as some kind of harmless quirky church that just has a few silly rules. It’s a fucking cult that brainwashes its members and actively harms marginalized people. Mormonism deserves every ounce of hate it receives and then some
Next round of Narinders and Lambs! We got mostly more requests and also some more of my favorite designs! We got another really interesting batch and i love how different they all are! As always if any of these designs stick out to you check out the dersigners blog to see their aus etc!
Every time I get groceries I’m always appalled at how little you can get for like, $20. I was making banana pudding so I needed vanilla wafers but the brand name nilla wafers cost $4 a box. The minimum wage in my state is $7.25/hr. My friend put it really well when he said “imagine you work for an hour and someone hands you two boxes of nilla wafers and said ‘actually this is a bit more than what I owe you’”
How are some of y’all missing the point so bad. “Shop at aldi instead” “make your own food” “don’t buy brand name” “don’t buy unhealthy processed food” It’s not about the box of cookies. This is about how minimum wage pays peanuts and has stagnated for 12 years while the cost of living keeps growing. No one wants your financial advice about how to survive on beans and rice and frozen veggies. The smartest grocery list in the world is not gonna help you budget your way out of poverty. Please get a grip for the love of god
white t girl i love you. and also do not forget that you are not the modern martyr for the oppressed voice. that’s still black girls. it’s always been black girls. stories of black martyrdom simply don’t make it into the news cycle until the unrest caused by its reporting can be packaged as a “riot” segment between traffic reports. i know you suffer, but whatever you’re experiencing, i beg you, when interacting with your community and building nuanced understandings of each other and the system which binds us, to not forget that a black tgirl has felt it 100 times worse before positioning yourself as an authority on all systems of oppression for having suffered unjustly at all. because you have suffered unjustly, but suffering unjustly as a white person means something so much different.
serenely reblogging this once more after deleting responses from white people saying “talking about this is actually unhelpful because im oppressed too” yeah i know. i wrote that down in the post i made, and i also wrote down why remembering the difference is important. did you read it?
there is no malice in my reminder. no “you need to do better”, just a reminder. do not read it as such. i didn’t write it as such.
